Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) -- A bomb in Iran's southeastern city of Zahedan left 18 people dead, the most deadly incident to hit the country's Sistan-Baluchistan province since 22 people were killed by gunmen in March.

The bomb was placed in a car near a bus belonging to Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps ground forces, a provincial official in Zahedan, who declined to be identified, said in a telephone interview. State-run Islamic Republic News Agency IRNA reported the death toll of 18.

The victims were Revolutionary Guard employees, the official said, adding that two people had been arrested. Iran's Revolutionary Guards are the most radical element in the clerically controlled military.
