Is the Hildebeast the 2008 version of Howard Dean? Will Democrats conclude she's unelectable and opt for someone else? We shall see.
February 21, 2006 -- Forty-four percent of voters across the country oppose a 2008 run for the White House by Hillary Clinton, a new poll shows.
That's up from 37 percent a year ago, according to the Siena College/Hearst newspapers poll. And while 53 percent said last year that she should go for it, only 51 percent think so now.
By contrast, support for a presidential bid by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is up to 48 percent, from 42 percent last year.
In a recent Gallup poll, 51 percent said they'd definitely vote against Clinton while 16 percent said they'd definitely back her.
Without question these are really rotten numbers. With close to 100% name recognition and only a 16% "definately vote for" figure she could be toast before this thing even gets started.
